April is Financial Literacy Month – a time to reflect not just on the numbers, but on the stories behind them. For Cordi, founder of Favored Financial Planning, LLC, it’s a time to remember the path that led her here.
Before entering the world of financial planning, Cordi found fulfillment in her work as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician. But by the time her third child was born, she felt the pull to step away from her medical career and fully embrace the role of mother. It wasn’t an easy decision, but it’s one she has never regretted. That season of life gave her the priceless opportunity to pour into her children during their formative years.
Life had more in store. When her father, the primary caregiver for her mother, faced a health crisis, Cordi opened her home to her parents. These deeply personal experiences strengthened her passion for helping others in moments of transition and uncertainty.
Her passion to help others financially began in 2007. That’s when Cordi started teaching pro bono financial literacy classes at her church, empowering individuals with tools to achieve greater financial clarity and confidence. What began as an act of service quickly grew into a calling. She saw firsthand how transformative financial education could be.
To deepen her expertise, she joined a national tax preparation franchise, where she gained valuable hands-on experience and a strong foundation in tax planning. Her commitment to professional excellence led her to complete the rigorous Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) coursework. And true to her roots in tax, she also earned the IRS Enrolled Agent designation – cementing her as a trusted guide through the complexities of both tax and financial planning.
With these skills and a heart for service, Cordi launched Favored Financial Planning with a clear mission: to empower women who manage their households’ finances. In an industry that can feel overwhelming—especially in its male-dominated and jargon-heavy corners—Cordi brings a refreshing, supportive presence.
Her approach is thoughtful and personal. She breaks down complex topics into simple, manageable steps, helping clients build confidence along the way. Because financial planning isn’t just about numbers—it’s about peace of mind. It’s about making space for what really matters.
Can you imagine what life would feel like if your finances were simplified and in order—freeing you to focus on the people and passions you love?
Let’s make that vision a reality.
